A Letter to Van Gogh by ~Joyblack007:iconJoyblack007:

Hey, man.
Your black licorice trees are on fire.
Your wheat fields are aflame
with the croaks of the gasping
elderly.  Your flashes of farmland
ripple with pastoral
calmness, forever
the killing fields
of forgotten warriors,
who would rather
shadow the brig
of a ship in
gray stencil, color
calluses on cannonballs
than fight for their lives.

Take off the flash on the easel;
it’s curdling the yellow, buttering
the blue, and they’ll ferment
into jaded green, envy
streaking through the skies.  It
cowers behind cerulean
curtains that cover the
stars in blankets of false hopes,
dehydrated dreams, and
in between the fabric seams

I see you dream that you were dead.

Although it may have been necessary, I'm still pissed that he offed himself.

Still working on the kinks in formatting.

That means we need to create a time machine, and stop him. Think of the world with a Van Gogh that had lived.

... Well, it probably wouldn't be much different, but it would still be a fun adventure.

It seems all is not twinkly in twerp-land.

Isn't it funny? when you screw
with formatting like this, everything changes

Completely.

Well, if it isn't fat stinking billygoat Billyboy in poison. How art thou, thou globby bottle of cheap stinking chip-oil? Come and get one in the yarbles, if you have any yarbles, you eunuch jelly, thou.
:icondisastercake:

I had the most intense response to this section:

"who would rather
shadow the brig
of a ship in
gray stencil, color
calluses on cannonballs
than fight for their lives."

I mean, BAM!

The finishing line is great too. Sorry, I don't think I can be more articulate than that.

Awesome piece and great imagery.

The more i study literature the more I find that many artists seem to walk a fine line between genius and self destruction. I share your frustrations, there have been so many others too who's brilliance was a great loss to the realms of art, stage, literature ect.

No worries. I'd appreciate any read and comment from you, however few words the latter may be.

...He'd probably just cut off his other ear, so he'd be symmetrically proportioned. THEN he'd off himself.
